Housing Justice Cymru was launched in 2016 and is our Welsh arm. Housing and homelessness are devolved in Wales and are the responsibility of the Welsh Government. This means legislation and practice differ between the Welsh and Westminster Governments. Housing Justice Cymru allows us to have a presence in Wales and operate in a Welsh context.
We are the only non-denominational Christian housing charity currently working in Wales. We provide support and advice to churches which want to get involved in housing and homelessness. We also act as a conduit that connects and networks churches with other organisations in Wales.
We offer advice and consultancy to Christian frontline organisations. This work is a natural offshoot of our work in supporting church shelters, day centres, soup runs and similar services nationwide.
Our Welsh Steering Group provides support and advice to the Director and helps set the strategic direction for our work.
