Peter has 35 years experience in the social care field both in the statutory and voluntary sectors with offenders and unemployed, homeless and disabled people.  Currently he is Chapter Clerk, the Administrator, of Portsmouth Cathedral, the senior lay member of staff responsible for the management of all the Cathedral’s administrative functions, finances and HR. 

Formerly a Probation Officer he then became Project Director of the homeless charity St George’s Crypt, Leeds for 10 years, followed by 13 years as Project Director of The Kepplewray Project an inclusive outdoor activity centre and training provider based in the Lake District and a linked project in Burundi East Africa.  

Peter has served on various community organisations/charities and currently besides Housing Justice he is a member of Portsmouth Churches Homeless Action Group.

 He is a committed Christian actively involved in church life, currently as a PCC member and Church Warden of his local church. 

Peter is married with two grown up daughters.  He likes walking and reading (especially children’s adventure stories and is a Biggles fan!)
