Shelter in a Pack
A resource for churches and communities considering setting up winter night shelters for homeless people
Shelther in a Pack was launched in the winter of 2010-2011 in London and in Birmingham, attracting huge interest from church groups nationwide. Within months of the launch, a number of groups had decided to set up Winter Night Shelters (WNS).
Clearly, the resource has filled a gap, where groups had been thinking of offering some form of service to homeless people, but had held back for lack of expertise and/or apprehension in the face of the range specialist skills involved in setting up a WNS.
There are two parts to the guide: the first part, which is the how-to bit, and the second part, a collection of forms to assist you in the day-to-day running of your WNS.
