From Homelessness to Belonging.

🏆 We’re very proud to share that the Homelife volunteer team has won the Health & Wellbeing category at the GAVO - Newport Volunteer Awards 2026!

This award highlights the commitment of our fantastic volunteers, who support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Newport. John and Cartin represented the team last night, accepting the award on behalf our our entire team.

We work with @barnardos_uk , @wearecodigroup Group and The Hive Newport to deliver Homelife, which recognises that safe and suitable housing is just the first step in overcoming/preventing homelessness - people also need confidence, purpose, connection and a sense of belonging to thrive.

Every Homelife journey begins with a ‘what matters’ conversation, putting the individual at the centre of their support and ensuring their goals and priorities shape the support they receive. From practical help with budgeting, benefits and appointments, going for a coffee or attending a community activity- our volunteers walk alongside people throughout the support journey.

This impact can’t be overstated. By helping people build confidence and a positive community, our volunteers play a huge role in boosting health and wellbeing. At the same time, volunteers themselves develop new skills, build friendships and become part of a supportive, positive community.
